Have just finished the newest member of the Kingsbridge series, The Armor of Light. I’ve currently read Pillars and World Without End and would rank them:

    1. World Without End
    2. Pillars
    3. AoL

Pillars and World are interchangeable in that list, however I do think World ends a lot better than Pillars (personal pref ofc!)

Armor was fairly unmoving for a solid chunk of it, I really enjoyed Hornbeam and Spade’s characters however and was pleasantly surprised by the final 100 pages (won’t spoil it).

Interested to hear what others think? But I also want to know from people who have read Column of Fire and The Evening and the Morning, how those two books stack up against AoL? Which one would you read again if you had to?

I’ll take a break from reading Follet for a few months but will undoubtedly come back to another member of the series soon!

Let me know what your thoughts are!

    1. I am reading Armor of Light at the moment. So far, I find it the least engaging of the series but not by much. His books are all very long for modern readers, and sometimes get bogged down in detail. But his Kingsbridge series is his best work. I especially liked Pillars of the Earth and A Column of Fire. The Evening and the Morning was also good.
