    Greetings all,

Greek mythology has been an endless obsession of mine since I was a ween. It’s largely been a blessing that it’s been such a prevalent trend in publishing the last few years, with the advent of Madeline Miller, and various other authors.

The aforementioned Miller being a particular favourite, along with Stephen Fry’s retellings, or various other forms of media, like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

I guess my question or quandary, or however you want to put it, is what books do you think represent a similar lifelong passion for Greek mythology? Miller is a classicist who lectures on these topics, for example.
I work in a bookshop, so it’s impossible to miss the plethora of books that some might interpret as cashing in on this whole literary zeitgeist du jour. I’m just so picky with what I want to spend my time reading, and there doesn’t seem to be many posts that I’ve come across that attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff.

There’s just been a few books that haven’t resonated with me in quite the same way as those mentioned above, like Silence of the Girls or Stone Blind. I’m not in any way questioning the validity of those two authors’ interpretations, especially in Barker’s case, showing how legitimately terrifying it was to be a woman in this largely romanticised war. I guess it came down to the more modern language she used that just jarred me out of the sense of immersion in the story.

So, to that effect, do any of my ramblings shake anything loose in your esteemed brains?
