It seems like reading is more popular than ever before now. It’s hard to keep up with all the books that are being released every week. But despite that, it seems like big, impactful book releases are no longer a thing. Will we ever see massive, global midnight releases that are truly events again? Everyone reading and discussing the same book online or at the office? Maybe it’s that there are too many releases so everyone is not focused on the same series/book at the same time. Still, I would think a popular series like Red Rising, Song of Ice and Fire, or one of the very popular Sara J Maas series might be able to pull it off. I know that new releases often get a little of chatter on social media but it doesn’t the same as it used to.
