Hey there fellow booklovers,
today I had an interesting chat with my boss. We talked about books that are really weird and kinda disturbing.
I recommended him “I have no mouth, but I must scream” for… Reasons.
Then he told me about a books he read in the 1980s. It’s from a soviet author who wrote a science fiction story about a man who wants to become immortal. The whole book this man got more disembodied and finally he ends as a pair of blind eyes, unable to die to his immortality.
I tried to research which author or (maybe a short) story it could be, but couldn’t find anything.
Does anyone here has a clue or does anyone even know this whole thing?
Thank you in advance 🙏

He just added the thought, that it could be a short story.
Maybe a whole book with them? Like Stephen King’s Night Shift.
