I have been looking for a while for a good enemies to lovers book but always fall short. They typically are not even enemies to lovers because the MMC is already in love with the FMC and she is just oblivious. I really hate this trope and I hate it even more now that it is considered enemies to lovers. I would prefer if both of them hate each other and have good reasons to and somehow learn to overcome them.
For me a good enemies to lovers book involves a real conflict between the main characters and not just petty issues. Also I do not like perfect main characters who are liked by everyone and if someone doesn’t like the they automatically become the antagonist. They shouldn’t be flat characters who are perfect at everything. I would like to add that it also needs to be slow-burn and by that I mean no insta-lust.
If you have any recommandations like this I would I appreciate it a lot. It doesn’t have to be fantasy but I feel that it would only work as a fantasy or sci-fi.

The Hurricane Wars, possibly? The MMX and FMC are on opposite sides of a war. It’s also quite slow burn.
