Inspired by[ this recent post](https://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/1akhkpn/whats_something_that_give_away_that_a_woman/), the Book of Words was a trilogy that I picked up back when it came out by accident, then tore through voraciously.
I am curious what a woman’s perspective is on this trilogy.
At the time (in 1996/1997), it was pretty much my first introduction to any feminism. Plus, the writing was insanely different than anything I was used to before, from authors like Eddings, Jordan, and others. Anybody want to tug a braid?
But then the third book turned the previously strong, independent, resilient, and inspiring woman, into a pregnancy prop.
I read the whole trilogy as a repeat a number of years ago, and had a similar visceral reaction to the final book, and I think it probably ruined any future reads from her as an author.
