Hi guys! Hope you all are having a good Monday so far! Are there any books about women army veterans and/or police officers that you would recommend? I’m currently planning a novella about one and would like to read one for inspiration. Although my book is fiction, your recommendation can be either fiction or nonfiction. I just want to read about the experience. Thanks!!!

I enjoyed Long Bright River by Liz Moore. Protagonist is a police officer
*When Women First Wore Army Shoes* by Ethel A. Starbird
*Breaking and Entering* by Connie Fletcher

[Howdunnit series](https://www.goodreads.com/series/76228-howdunit-series) – Especially if you’re writing about cops, these books are great references for mystery and crime writers. If you want to write realistic scenes of lifting fingerprints, operating a gun or planning a heist.
Hope this helps and best of luck with your novella.
Policewoman by Dorothy Uhnak memoir of woman on the New York Police force in the 60s, she also wrote some fiction about women police officers
Mixed Company: Women in the Modern Army by Helen Rogan
