I’m wondering if there is a novel that covers one individual’s lifetime and which examines the perpetuity of urban expansion and development, particularly with the incremental encroachment of city boundaries upon the natural landscape – destroying the natural environment one year at a time.
I would ideally like a book written in a similar structure and style to Stoner by John Williams.
I’m guessing some Romanticism novels could be applicable – does anyone know of any that apply to this theme?
