I love books that have this sort of dream logic. The story she has about walking through the professor’s wall really stuck with me. Some that come to mind that I’ve read:
* Bad Thoughts — Nada Alic
* anything by Samantha Schweblin
* Murakami comes to mind but I’m sometimes repulsed by his ‘men write women’ perspective
* Before the Coffee Gets Cold (series) is somewhat similar in idea but wildly different in tone
* Flights by Olga Tokarczuk (her pacing is a bit more mundane/boring than Ma, I like how eccentric Ma can get)
* Severance (also by Ma) didn’t grab my attention. I stopped reading it after about 50 pages (I have a rule that if a book doesn’t grab my attention in 50 pages then it isn’t for me).
* I’m Thinking of Ending Things and We Spread are kinda similar. Reid tends to lean dark, Ma has a bit more life and eclecticism to her stories.
Anyone else have additions to this list?
