Hello. Normally, I purchase all my books used on Amazon. Yes, I know it’s not great that I support them, but they have been pretty consistent & have many price options for my very low budget. Sometimes I cannot find my titles I’m searching for on there. I have no idea where else to look online. I am homebound & disabled, so unfortunately I cannot go to my local library or to any bookstores to pick up books. Does anyone know of any legitimate online sites to purchase books? Thank you.

    1. I’m not sure if this is something where you are, but my library had a “media messenger”. Basically you can call them and ask for something and someone will deliver it to your door.

    2. Why should you feel bad about shopping Amazon? Selling books from his family garage is how he started the business! Before I finally retired I ordered most of our household stuff from Amazon because I worked so many hours and the prices were good. Nope. I don’t feel bad! Do what works for you and your family- period!

    3. If you’re looking for new, Target is pretty fair.

If you don’t mind used, check out ThriftBooks! Almost all of my books come from there, and you can choose how “used” you want it to be.

I have an extremely low budget so my go to is always ThriftBooks. Sometimes they don’t have the books I’m looking for but when they do I always get a good deal.

    5. bookoutlet.com

It’s my FAVORITE. Not 100% on selection – they essentially sell leftover books from retailers like Target, so you might find say books 1 and 3 of a trilogy but not book 2, so you’d find the other one full priced elsewhere. You can find books WELL under $10 and you get $5 coupons pretty frequently.

    6. Check out Abebooks! Lots of bookstores sell their books through that website and you can find both used and new titles.
