I was about 7 and kept reading this book in school, checking it out throughout the years never reading anything else. I can’t find it online either. It’s about a preschool teacher who moves out in the country to a cottage to teach a new group of kids, and she has a cat that loves children. But it storms and the cat found its way outside and ran off, the teacher posted for the missing cat, and eventually found that the cat went to a man. The woman was angry and took the cat back but they both ended up raising the cat together and falling in love and teaching the children as a couple. Best book ever, 10/10, I’m dying to find it. This lady made multiple books about cats too, and I’m pretty sure it was a lady.
