So one of my greatest nerdy pleasures is to read books on the same topic simultaneously. For example, a non-fiction and a fiction book on the same story or one story told from different perspectives. Some examples include:

Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction by David Sheff alongside Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff.

The Little House Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder alongside Pioneer Girl: The Annotated Autobiography alongside Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Some of my favorite topics are true crime, colonialism (would really love to read some more books about the history of Central Africa that include indigenous perspectives to contrast against colonist narratives), 19th century seafaring, Hollywood, horror, cults, biopics, 1950s America (love Mrs. Bridge) and unlikeable public figures in general.

Your recommendations are welcome! I’d love to know if anyone else likes to do this.
