I just finished reading Tell Me I’m Worthless by Alison Rumfitt. I loved it. But some parts were pretty bleak.

Before diving into my next planned read (nonfiction, might require some brainpower), I want something a bit more light-hearted and hopeful that I can turn my brain off a bit while reading. Preferably a standalone novel rather than a whole series!

Any genre’s fine but I’m not the biggest romance reader (which may be my downfall in looking for a lighter read!), and especially not the booktok/wattpad style romances (sorry!). Usually I’ll read fantasy but I’ve been into horror and literary fiction lately too.

I’m thinking a silly little YA read may be the way to go? Or even a more “mature” children’s novel (think along the lines of a Series of Unfortunate Events, Coraline, Holes, etc).

Also open to comic/manga/graphic novel recs!
