I just finished re-reading CJ Cherryh’s Morgaine Cycle, and now I’m in a book slump trying to find something that has the same flavour as Cherryh’s writing (of which I’ve read everything to date, unfortunately). Looking for books where it’s more about people and their interactions/relationships than the plot, bonus points for some ethical quandaries and emotional turmoil. Preferably with strong female characters (don’t have to be the protagonist). Not looking for anything YA.
Other books in a similar vein to what I’m looking for: Lois McMaster Bujold’s Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls, Martha Well’s Murderbot Diaries, Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice series.
Please help a reader out? :’)

Red rising. Wonderful character driven space opera set in the grim dark future.
[The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard is *very* character driven and has a heavy focus on platonic relationships
If you like Lois McMaster Bujold, have you tried the Vorkosigan saga by her?
