I have much to say about this… here we go.

    What makes us read?

By this, I mean: what makes KEEP reading? Is it the thrill of it, the luster of words on the page with every turn and crackle of the paperback? It’s binding, staying noble through wear and tear? Or is it that it enhances our minds, our souls, bodies, with thoughts and feelings? I personally think that, like a good white wine or medium rare/well steak, it makes us crave for its sweet nectar, discuss it on the internet with people bound together only by the love of the bound book, and savor every page.

Or maybe we just read to get a cheap thrill, a hearty laugh, a cry of sympathy for a hard time. What do you think guys?

What if, and this is a big if, we didn’t read? If the whole world did a one month cleanse free of reading, and instead played a game like Red Dead Redemption II or watched sports like football, soccer, lacrosse, et cetera… or play it (my brother clyde dabbled in being a football center, my favorite position excluding maybe QB or tight end but I’m rambling…. Save that for r/ nfl) Would the world be better or worse place during that no reading period. Would be become more in touch with ourselves, unlocking the inner chambers of our consciousness, as we would be void of the distraction we previously gravitated to placing upon ourselves, as a strong means of gaining the deepest depths of access to fictional but oh so real feeling characters and their emotions (like am I the only one who did imaginary tarot card readings with all the Hunger Games and GoT characters….). Would you be in support or against this “Reading Ban” month, maybe every March or November? Thoughts… love to hear them!

We all disagree on what books we like to read. I would love to read a biography of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, because I enjoy watching him play even as a Falcons fan. But Penguin Random House, Scholastic, Harper, etc don’t have enough demand so thus do not write the book, or commission an author to pen it either. What is your most unpopular books related opinion? Perhaps it is not a tangible one; maybe the smell of a certain publishers print connects with you in the spirit, pangs you in the heart like an Elden ring boss has done many times to me lol. What is your thoughts on all of this….

Or perhaps you don’t read and this just came up on your homepage. In this case I would be very lucky for penning something so resonant with so many of my fellow readers. That would motivate me to take the leap and pen my own writing. (daydreams in starlight….)

And I’m off! To the other corners of this virtual emporium. Thank you, and I’d love to hear what you have to say about all of this!!!
