While most book readers tend to believe that books are superior to their movie adaptations, there are exceptions. For instance, Jurassic Park is a book that I would argue is not better than the movie. Are there any other books-turned-movies where you feel the movie surpasses the book?
Also the divergent series.

but when you read the second part of the story, you can’t put your finger on it.
I enjoyed Fight Club the movie more than the book.
To me they are just different forms of media, one is not better than the other. They provide different forms of entertainment and that is about it. You may enjoy Jurassic Park the movie more, someone else might enjoy the book more. I rarely see the point in comparing a book and a movie.
I’ll throw in The Godfather – not that the book was bad, but the movie was great.
Starship Troopers. The book is cool, makes you think, but it mostly feels like you’re reading a guy’s diary. The movie raises a lot of the same themes, but it’s just more gripping. Also unintentionally (or maybe intentionally?) hilarious.
Forrest Gump all the way
Not necessarily better, but the movie for Hunt for Red October is more accessible.
