I love social history and books that give a strong sense of the place and time. I loved Pillars of the Earth, The Red Tent, McCammon’s Boy’s Life, The Peasants. I would love to read something cosy, preferably not with a lot of violence, set in any place or era – but bonus of it’s about Victorian childhood (I read most classics, but always welcome rereads). Could you help me find something filled with details on meals, customs, clothing, daily rythm? Thank you very much guys!
