I am looking for lovely, flowerly writing, or the absolute opposite; well don’t, matter-of-fact, this is what happened writing. I have just finished Ender’s Game, and I am currently reading House of Leaves; however I’d like something that just has really nice sounding sentences. I hope that makes sense.

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill!
Weirdly enough a good friend of mine just re-read Ender’s Game and then cranked through about 3/5 of House of Leaves (this friend’s favorite book is 1984). I’ll provide a few:

Dreary/Spooky – If you wanted something spooky like House of Leaves
1. The Road
2. The Picture of Dorian Gray
3. 1984
4. Poe stories <3

“I am looking for flowery writing or the absolute opposite” – how about both?
