As a kid and teenager, I tore through books. I’d read a book every two days. As a kid I liked Roald Dahl, Judy Blume, Nancy Drew, Goosebumps, American Chillers. My favorite book was the Secret Garden. As a teenager I liked sci-fi romance novels. I loved series. The more books in a series, the better.
In young adulthood I started to struggle even worse with my mental health and somewhere along the way I lost my love of reading. For a long time I couldn’t even concentrate long enough to get through a paragraph, let alone a page or chapter. I did listen to a lot of audiobooks during this phase and most of them happened to be Stephen King.
Now I’m doing better and can concentrate better. Last year I read a couple books. This year it is my goal to read one book a month (if not more). First book in January was Piranessi by Suzanna Clarke. I loved it and thought it was a great, easy, and gentle re-introduction back into my favorite hobby.
Any suggestions for easier books to ease back into it?
