I’m looking for research for a book I’m writing. Does anyone have suggestions for books (Fact or fiction) that are about people that stayed with or worked with a family to the point that they were virtually part of it? Like that old trope of the butler that “Served this family for THREE generations!” or the old hand that worked on caring for a family’s plants ever since a guy could remember, or the wet nurse a girl considered more of a mother to her than her biological one since she spent so much more time with her.
I need to get inside the head and thought patterns of one of my character’s to better understand them and not make them two dimensional.
