To those who have read the different translations of The Odyssey, or whomever, can I read one translation and then switch to another midways? I am currently reading the Rieu version and have Odysseus has just reached Ithaca, but I came upon Fitzgerald’s version and I like that one better. Will I miss a lot of story or can I just jump on the Fitzgerald book and read from the book I left in Rieu’s?

Translations (should) only differ on finer points in how this or that word is translated or how to transliterate proper names from one language to another, and shouldn’t differ on the story points. In short, yes you should be able to hop between translations and not miss any of the story.
