I’m realizing that I really enjoy reading hefty books about family sagas over many generations, or stories that follow multiple characters over time or on a big journey.
Here’s a few examples of novels that I feel fall under those themes that I really enjoyed:
Lonesome Dove series, Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden, Pillars of the Earth series, Greenwood, The Overstory
Does anything along those lines come to mind? No fantasy or sci-fi please. I’m open to non-fiction titles that have similar themes as well.

The Count of Monte Cristo for sure
Also, Ken Follett has another series called the Century Trilogy. It follows a couple of families over the course of the 20th century (focus of each being WW1, WW2, and Civil Rights Movement).
Roma series by Steven Saylor
