Our community has frequent discourse regarding the effects of AI on authors and publishing. Opinion is divided, with many espousing the ethical failures of AI in its use of copyrighted materials, among other valid concerns. The above is a newly published video by Philosophy Tube, in which Abigail Thorn discusses these topics for about an hour, from the perspective of a writer and a creator, with credible research and attention to detail, and somehow in a way that is fresh and entertaining rather than dry and wearisome.
After watching it, I think while it is not *primarily* about books, it has information relevant to the industry, and hope it can benefit future discussions surrounding AI in the community. (Also it’s honestly entertaining.)
