Just finished Fallout New Vegas and fell in love with the world and the lore. The variety of factions and thier goals and motives and following a character/set of characters morals going against or with those factions to reach thier own goal. Preferabley a more adventure book that explores the world. Tales of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin has that adventerous spirit where you follow the protagonist to different locations, but I didn’t get so invested in it as I maybe would’ve liked.
I tried the Road by Cormac Mccarthy which has the setting but I couldn’t get over the prose.

You could try *Parable of the Sower* by Octavia E. Butler
*The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne* series by Jonathan Stroud – Post-climate disaster, orphan Scarlett must shepherd powerful but naive Albert Browne through the warring factions and supersized monsters across a destroyed English countryside. Adventure, different landscapes, power differentials, questionable motives, unreliable characters–the works.
