I haven’t been reading much the last couple of years and I miss it. I don’t really know where to start though and I keep picking up books just to put them down. I need something great!

I usually like sci-fi/fantasy, but I’m open to other genres especially informative nonfiction/autobios. I’m also down with some trendy modern books. I can do some horror but not looking for anything too heavy and depressing.

Some of my favorite books are:
    Ender’s Game Series by Card
An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
The Lord of the Rings series
The Long Walk by Stephen King (and on the horror note: Anything by u/hyperobscura or u/ChristianWallis lmao)
Some “children’s” books like Coraline, City of Ember, and Harry Potter
The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle

    Thank you!

    1. The 100 Year Old Man by Jonas Jonasson might fit this. It’s fiction in the spirit of Forrest Gump. Darker humor. An enjoyable read.

Project Hail Mary. It’s sci-fi. It’s a fast paced addictive read. It gets pretty technical. And that’s all I’m going to say. I went in blind and found it so much better than knowing anything else about it. Enjoy!

Have you read Ready Player One? That might be a good one to flex the reading muscle and get sucked back in!

I’ll suggest an unusual one with Super Powereds by Drew Hayes. It’s a magic high school style, but as a superhero college. The protagonists are five kids going through a college course to certify them to work as professional heroes. The chapters are short and quick and you can feel real accomplished when you get to chapter 200. (Some are like a page long so it’s less daunting than you think.)

    5. If you like Coraline I recommend the Girl Who Fell to Fairyland series it reignited my love of reading too
