I adore historical fiction so that’s what drew me to the book on my first read. I don’t believe I even gave it a fair chance then..
So now I’ve picked up for the last few months again this time as an audiobook! And I’m someone who hardly listens to audiobooks but personally I realized that this book is a lot more engaging as an audiobook. Anyways I’m almost done I’ve got like 3 hours left out of 20 hours so I’m going to finish it I’m almost there.. although this last “book” is getting hard to enjoy even with such the audiobook being more engaging.
I feel like the book is starting to fall apart.. with more characters being introduced than I can handle at a rapid speed after pages and pages of getting to know ONE family very overwhelming!
And what angered me most is how abrupt Noah’s death is I kid you not I’m cleaning the kickthen and I suddenly hear “ Noah shot himself the next day” And we move on to a new chapter on something entirely differently as if you didn’t get me emotionally attached to A key character that’s outright cruel! Maybe that was the point it was supposed to be shocking?
Anyways I’m just sorta confused with the book at the moment..
