And so yet again I have completed yet another of Neil Gaiman’s novels, and this one is quite the riot! The Novel I’m talking about now is “Anansi Boys”.
Charlie Nancy, sometimes called Fat Charlie, had a pretty normal life so far as he was concerned. That was until his father had died from a heat attack while on a karaoke stage in Florida.
But there is something that Charlie didn’t know about his father; his father was the god Anansi. And then another thing that he didn’t even known as well is that he also has a brother.
Now that brother, Spider, has landed right on his doorstep, and is about to make the life of Fat Charlie a lot more interesting. And also a lot more dangerous than he would like.
When I said that this novel a was riot, I really mean it! This one of Gaiman’s most funniest novels, and sits perfectly with his collaboration with terry Pratchett “Good Omens”. The interactions between Fat Charlie and Spider are priceless! The novel is set, I believe, sometime after “American Gods” since Anansi also appears in that one.
“Anansi Boys” I certainly quite a treat I must say, and really wickedly fun too! Eventually I’ll be getting to more of his stuff in the near future soon.
