Any book about humans discovering and communicating with aliens, with the book being focused on the process of decrypting alien language, piecing together their biology, trying to find a medium in which both species can understand, etc. Not book about “oh no aliens will blow up the planet!!” or “aliens have told us in perfect American English they they’re gonna enslave us all!!!”
