I bought the hardcover and read it when it came up around 2012 and really liked it. I gave it to my brother to read and of course he is in another part of the country and has never read it. I saw the paperback in Goodwill for $1.00 and read it again. It all seemed new to me I didn’t remember a lot of anecdotes or anything but I am a huge rock bio junkie. This is an exceptional book, even if you’re not a Stones fan. He did have assistance writing it but the voice is really authentic. It gives an image of swinging London, but also insight into drug addiction and fame, and their music process. He is famous for doing a lot of drugs, but he worked extremely hard and has a lot of pride in what he accomplished. He doesn’t hold much back, and it is also a long and complex book that is not an airplane or beach read. It is in my opinion the best rock biography that has ever been done.

I bought it at my library book sale and loved it! I agree, one of the best rock bio’s I’ve read. Try reading Anger is a Energy by John Lydon. It’s amazing.
I love me a good rock and roll autobiography. Have you read Slash’s? That might be my favorite ever.
