I’m in medschool and I’m responsible for a 51 yo patient with severe malnutrition waiting to get better to get surgery. She’s been in the hospital since the 20th and she’s very lonely and depressed.
I noticed she doesn’t do anything all day and thought of bringing her something to do during her stay. I asked her if she knows how to read and she said yes but never got formal education like college.
So here’s what i’m looking for: something fun, lighthearted and easy to read, but not a children’s book. Thanks in advance

This is very sweet of you. You’re going to be a very compassionate doctor. For easy, entertaining, lighthearted reads, you might try Princess Bride or The Traveling Cat Chronicles.
“Dewey: the Small Town Library Cat that Touched the World” is an easy, sweet read. Title explains it.
Audio books. My wife has been in hospital for weeks and I loaded some audio books on an old phone we had lying around and she’s listening to those.
Will your library check out CDs she can listen to on a CD player? Or you could use Hoopla and an old phone which is what we did.
