Hi everyone, it’s my first post on this sub so I gotta say I’m currently reading “A little life” by Hanya Yanagihara. And I gotta say “OH MY EFFING GOD is this book crude”.
For anyone who’s reading or might’ve read already I just gotta ask did you too skip the Caleb part? It was just too much for me; I couldn’t bare it. All I could do was scream “WHERE IS WILLEM? WILLEM WOULD NEVER ALLOW THIS” I’m having mixed feelings I’m loving this book—I gotta say I’m not easily scandalised, I’ve read The Marquis de Sade without twitching an eye and yet this just seemed so very real, so close to home I was shocked—but is that much suffering really necessary?

I’m currently at the part where Jude finally trusts Willem, here’s hoping for a little respite.

    Thoughts?

I read it through the first time, but I’ve read it like 3 more times and can’t bear to read those parts again

    2. I haven’t read the book yet, though I almost did. I restrained myself because I’ve heard how dark it is when it comes to trauma. And by the sound of your post it seems that it lives up to it’s reputation haha. One day I will, it’s definitely on my list
