I wonder if anyone here has read a lot of Sherwood Anderson? I am currently working through all his fiction. I have found his short story collections to be fantastic but his novels really lacking. However, I did like *Poor White* a lot.
In general, his description of how industrialism is changing the Midwest was interesting to read but I also think he was writing about the sexual revolution a generation before it happened. His constant return to the lonliness of modernity was also really prescient.
Any thoughts?
