Hello friends,
I am seeking stories, especially short stories, where the protagonist is sort of resignedly trapped by choices and life’s circumstances. Maybe they got what they dreamed of, and it turned out to be a kind of prison, or maybe they didn’t realize any dreams, and ended up in one of life’s prisons. Commitments that cannot be gotten out of easily. Any setting, genre, time period, etc. I’m wide open for suggestions, but here are a few scenarios I can think of.
A Servant, A Husband or Wife, A Nun.
Any character who is stuck in life, with no easy way out, so to speak.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.
