Hi,
I’ve started reading A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and I’m almost a quarter of the way through it. It seems absurd and satirical, which I’m finding I’m not enjoying as much as an earnest The Ocean at the End of the Lane, for example. I don’t want to limit myself, and I’d like to appreciate as much as I can on their own merits, as long as it’s doing what it’s trying to do well. Am I missing something that might cause me to appreciate it more, before I return the book without finishing?

Yeah, I didn’t get it, either. It wasn’t BAD, it just didn’t click for me.
