I’m done with coming of age novels. They hold almost no interest. That’s in part due to the fact that I’m now in my mid 40’s and don’t relate as well. I realized instead that a few of my favorite books revolve around people near midlife. For example: Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes, Lolita by Nabokov and Dinosaurs: A Novel by
Lydia Millet.
I’m trying to find others along these lines. Something that gives perspective and meaning to those in midlife. Any recommendations?
