First off: I have read the actual Dishonored books.

Looking for something that feels as close to Dishonored as possible. I love the gritty setting and atmosphere, I love Corvo, Daud, Sokolov, and The Outsider as characters, I love that Corvo’s attachement to Emily is more than just as a protector, its a parental love. I love the lore regarding the whales, the isles and the rat plague, etc.

Looking for something preferably not YA, but Im willing to work with it depending on what it is.

For reference, im about half way through Six Of Crows, and there are elements that I really like, and there are elements that I kinda dont. Some of the writing feels like its edgy just for the sake of being edgy and feels forced. Kaz in particular, at least to me. That being said, I happen to like Inej quite a bit.

Anyway, any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

    1. The Pariah by Anthony Ryan could be a good fit. It’s more medieval than dishonored but it has similar themes with a well written antagonist who actually thinks they are the best option as ruler. (it also has mysterious powers that few people understand)

    2. I don’t think you’re going to find anything quite like it really but I’d suggest The Lies of Locke Lamora. A bunch of gentleman thieves in a fantasy world that isn’t as advanced but does have the feels of a slightly screwed up ruling class.
