Hello! As mentioned in the title, I enjoy sci-fi.
I rented Dune recently and got through 80 pages and just couldn’t get into it.
Some other books I absolutely loved are…
Epic
I am Number Four
Rot and Ruin
The 5th Wave
Boy Nobody
Partials
I read all the series of these books. Anything in the same ballpark would be appreciated!
Thanks!

A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge.
The Rookie by Scott Sigler.
Worm by Wildbow.
Majority by Abby Goldsmith.
Sci-Fi but different than Dune? Then I’d recommend The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut. Its very straightforward, not much going on other than the story, and quite funny too. I usually recommend him and his other novels, but I’ll toss this one here.
Seven Eves
Snow Crash
Enders Game & Speaker for the Dead
Neuromancer
Foundation trilogy
Priests of Mars trilogy
Horus Rising
Hyperion
Flowers for Algernon
A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine: a woman becomes an ambassador to a galactic empire but first she has her predecessor’s memories and personality implanted in her brain.
All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders: a boy who builds super computers and a witch become friends as children before going their separate ways. After growing up, they find themselves enmeshed in plots to stop the apocalypse.
