I just finished A Touch of Jen and my brain feels like it was just put in the microwave. I liked it and read thru it pretty fast, but, what?
Honestly I thought it was gonna come out that Alicia was somehow the parrot? What exactly is the spod she made? It’s my understanding that Remy essentially forced reincarnation somehow by killing Jen and she came back as Alicia? Does anyone have any thoughts on that? I know Alicia’s death was an accident, but I also know Remy hurt himself on purpose for Jen’s attention so I’m led to believe Alicia somehow did the same and that’s a “connection” between all three of them. Then killing Jen was a crime of passion Remy felt led to do that ultimately brought Alicia back – or did it? And what is up with the parrot? Carla had mentioned turning Greta into a bunny so I was certain Alicia was the parrot, but I don’t know if the parrot’s role was ever addressed. Lastly I am very lost at what the spod is, really. Alicia said on the surfing trip it was something to reach your best self or something along those lines but beyond it being a hot tub with a wooden enclosure I’m lost on that one.
Edit: I’m still thinking about this and I feel like the spod is some type of incubator. Alicia went into it setting her intention to become Jen. She then dies and Remy has to complete the task and she communicates with him via “signifiers.” However, Remy was so against this hippy dippy mentality, it’s a bold approach. And why was Carla so invested in this project? She seemed like she didn’t like Alicia. I suppose it’s solely so she can have Horus, but sounds like a complex process to sleep with a man who’s already in an open relationship.
