I need some complicated fantasy/science fiction novel recommednations. By complicated, I mean have some level of politics/intrigue. Doesn’t have to be crazy! I just finished reading the poppy war, and I can feel a reading drought coming on because there’s just nothing like it. I loved the poppy war, and I would like some complicated books like it. Mainstream, or not.
Some books I’d consider to be in this category to differing degrees:
Red rising series, the cruel prince series, the poppy war series, the six of crows series, most brandon sanderson books, in the shadow of lightning, and obviously game of thrones and lord of the rings.

Brandon Sanderson did an AMA here [you might want to take a look](http://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/2ytg2h/im_novelist_brandon_sanderson_ama/) 🙂 [Here’s a link to all of our upcoming AMAs](http://www.reddit.com/r/books/wiki/amafullschedule)

The Expanse series sounds like it would be right up your alley, OP.
The Malazan series.
Anything from William Gibson, but start with Neuromancer.
Peter F Hamilton has a couple Trilogies that are as complex of a plot based series as I have ever read. They are more SF than some of your examples though.
David Weber’s Safehold series is on a par with GoT in my mind0.0
I suggest Daughter of the Empire, in fact the entire Empire trilogy written by Raymond Feist and Janny Wurts (correct me if I’m getting the authors wrong).
Iain M Banks’ Culture series. Wonderfully dark and complex.
The Ninefox Gambit and sequels by Yoon Ha Lee. Damn fun but really confused the hell out of me. I loved it
The Traitor Baru Cormorant and sequels by Seth Dickinson. Political machinations, shadowy intrigue, clever people being utterly ruthless. So good
The Luna Trilogy starting with New Moon by Ian McDonald
