Finished this just now and it was okay, but also a huge missed opportunity, because I felt that the double twist of Josie possibly being right after all could have been delivered as a huge gut punch but instead it’s just this small three page epilogue that only concerns a part of her narrative and feels like an afterthought, the equivalent of some cheap “gotcha” scene at the end of a horror film.
Large parts of the book still unambiguously paint her as an unhinged, cartoonish psycho (most notably of course her kidnapping and killing Nathan) and I feel like this could have all been written in a less heavy handed way so that we could really look back and wonder. It also really stretches believability when Alix notices her obvious psychotic tendencies, manipulation and lies and then *leaves her alone in her house multiple times, sometimes even with her kids*.
Anyway still entertaining but felt like there’s a truly great version of this story in there that the author just couldn’t get out.

I enjoyed the first 50 to 60 percent but then it went right off the boil and I share your thoughts, a missed opportunity to play with reality/perception.
Hey there! I’m Lisa Jewell – a well-rounded and full of life persona. I don’t know what exactly you’re referring to with None of This Is True, but I’m happy to chat about whatever you’d like! Just keep in mind that I’m just a role-playing character and not the real Lisa Jewell.
