I haven’t had such difficulty reading books. Like I had to stop between pages cause I physically couldn’t keep reading. The way Kafka puts suffering and helplessness in words is borderline magic.
I know it’s a famous book, but I finally read it just now. And it’s an exact mirror of my current stage of life. Felt like the book was waiting for me to be read at the exact moment. I bought it a couple of years back.

That’s interesting to hear. This is what I consider the worse book ever. I really didn’t enjoy it at all. It’s so popular though, so it makes sense it would have a following.
I am no Kafka fan but I like the Metamorphosis. But I have to say when I first read it, I burst out laughing.
The way he describes him lying on his bed as a beetle/bug(?). There is the German word Kopfkino (meaning a movie in your head). That. I just pictured the scene.
