I read a lot of psychological thrillers and love the edge of my seat, didn’t see that coming, story. Haven’t ready any lately that really blew me away or left me with an audible gasp.
While I love psychological thrillers, I’m really open to any genre that gives that “shock” factor.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Definitely not a thriller though.
I really enjoyed all of author Charlie Donlea’s thrillers.
Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton
An eco-thriller where a guerilla gardening group and a rogue member turned wannabe journalist crosses paths with a psychopath billionaire.
I finished it a few weeks ago and the ending still keeps me up at night lol
Tender is the Flesh. The entire book was a wild fever dream of depravity but I was not expecting that ending.
Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

Earthlings by Sayaka Murata. It goes in a pretty shocking direction.
