This is my first time reading anything by him. His writing itself is really enjoyable, full of metaphors and sharp commentary, but _man_ is he long-winded. >A kid found a body while walking alone and he spent about five pages describing said body.< He went on and on for four pages about how magnetism influences the waves. And I thought Tolkien went a bit overboard with his prose, but Victor is wordy af. I don’t mind it too much, my tolerance for overwriting is quite high, but I can 100% see why there are abridged versions of pretty much all his works 😅
