I read Naked Lunch, Soft Machine and The Ticket That Exploded when I was younger and really enjoyed them. Now I came back to him and decided to read Nova Express but I just couldn’t get into it. I did finish it but the cut-up style and the le random shit every page didn’t quite do it for me anymore. Felt kind of like a fever dream. Not to criticize, I can totally appreciate what he’s going for. But would you recommend the Red Night Trilogy if I’m looking for a more mature and straight-foreward Burroughs? I don’t mind whackiness, but some more structure would be appreciated. Thanks!
