I’m a curious reader that enjoys essays on political theory, psychology, economics, social criticism and media analysis. Here are some examples of books that i’ve read:
1) The Courage to Be Disliked
2) Antifragile
3) Amusing yourself to death
4) Understanding comics: the invisible art
5) The Prince
Do you have any non-fiction books to recommend?

Inventing Reality by Michael Parenti
Propaganda Model by Chomsky
The image by Boorstin
Biography of idea by Edward Bernays
Propaganda by Edward Bernays
The Responsive Chord by Tony Schwartz
Trust Me, I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator by Ryan Holiday
What makes these books stand out is that a lot of media books are written by academics. These books were written by *practitioners* of the dark arts of media manipulation.
The opening pages of Propaganda are still some of the most chilling things I’ve read outside of horror novels.
Hope these were the kind of books you were looking for.
