It’s been awhile since I picked up a good book since I graduated college a couple of years ago. The last series I read was Game of Thrones. I love history and read a good bit of Roman non-fiction. But this go around I’d love a Roman historical fiction that’s captivating.

    1. Try the Masters of Rome novels by Colleen McCullough. The first book is The First Man in Rome, which focuses on Marius and Sulla.

Good Roman historical fiction? Why not start at the very beginning and read the Aeneid, by Virgil. Its a fictional account written in the time period of the founding and early history of Rome.

Masters of Rome series by Colleen McCullough

SPQR series by John Maddox Roberts

      Cicero trilogy by Robert Harris

ETA Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George, if you’re okay with Rome not being the main setting
