Having a yearly book goal has helped motivate me to sit back and relax while i work on my masters degree.
how many books have you read in a month?
my most was 19 last August and i just finished my 17th book of 2024 this evening!
my goal this year is to beat my previous record from last year of 119 books! what’s your goal for this year? do you have any specific genres you want to explore this year?

I don’t set number-goals, but I set goals like “I want to be able to understand Topic X” or “I want to be able to hold a conversation about the history of Genre Y”.
Right now, I’m really focused on Hawaiian history, the Vietnam War, the Iliad and adaptations of classical lit, and I’m trying to sort of guide myself through a history of speculative fiction (I want to understand how the modern horror genre came to be).
