Looking to read something to mend my ache and hurt from the world. Something that soothes the trauma of being alone in what feels mostly like an uncaring world. I am a chronic abuse survivor looking for an escape and a book that makes me feel seen. I love magical realism type of fantasy books as they often feel more accessible and easy to read but it’s hard for me to get in to books that are more high fantasy as they typically have triggering scenes, lots of fighting, or are fast paced and adrenaline inducing. I love found family books as I don’t really have one myself but it doesn’t have to have that. I also love whimsical silly humor but it doesn’t necessarily have to have that either.
Thank you❤️

Have you tried Terry Pratchett books? I think you might like *Equal Rites* or *Mort*.
A couple of cozy magical realism books:
– [Garden Spells](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/127d934c-4d7e-448c-adfd-2bdb7a7209de) by Sarah Addison Allen (cw: one of the characters is a domestic abuse survivor)
– [The Book Charmer](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/20da6dc4-0a19-442f-b175-f3c3f47e9d3a)
Legends and Lattes did that for me. The second one was not as good, sadly.
I keep on recommending Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson, such a wonderful cozy fantasy
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.
