I am interested in learning about how buildings were constructed in the early 1900’s. Mostly interested in American history but open to other countries.
I work as a pipe fitter and sometimes work in old buildings and I cannot fathom how these workers did this 100 years ago without hydraulic lifts, power tools, much heavier materials, etc.
I seem to find books about the history of contractors or businessmen within construction industry but am having trouble finding out about the processes themselves.
