    1. ALL the Anne of Green Gables series.

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. This one is a little more “serious” subject matter but the friendship in this book is like no other I’ve read of.

Made for Love by Alissa Nutting. Hilarious book of a woman escaping an abusive relationship to move in with her very old dad- and his girlfriend Dianne, but Dianne is a sex doll. Lol

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. This is a series and omg, it is so funny and clever. The world building is incredible and I fell in love with the characters. It’s fantasy, if that’s something you may like but I don’t even read a lot of fantasy and I loved this series.

I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai. I’m sure you know if this girl. I imagined it would be a sad book but it was full of hope and beauty and the way this girl was raised in a land where women are treated so poorly was an inspiration.

The Guncle by Steven Rowley. It’s a lighthearted book about a gay man that is tasked with caring for his niece and nephew after their parents pass in an accident. It sounds sad but it was very cute.

Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Q Sutanto. This one is a two book series and though it’s extremely lighthearted, was still a hilarious, HILARIOUS read. A girl kills her date on accident and her mom & aunts help her get rid of the evidence. They’re an Asian-American family, which makes the misunderstandings unexpected and genuinely funny.

The Southern Bookclub’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. I’ll save myself time and list the others by him you should read because this type of vibe is his bread and butter, imo.
      -My Best Friend’s Exorcism
-How to Sell a Haunted House
He has other books that are great also but may be a little less “feel good”.

Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q Sutanto. The main character in this book is a riot!

House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. This book has the cutest characters- all fantastical child creatures that inhabit the little island.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. A great pacific octopus in captivity solves a mystery and helps unite a family.

Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson. A young woman finds herself helping care for two children with a strange affliction- they burst into flames sometimes.

I hope you enjoy at least one of these 🙂

    2. SkyOfFallingWater on

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

      Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne

Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman (non-fiction)
